Lic. Ana María Altamirano Morales Quantum Lab Biologist

Ana María Altamirano Morales, Esq.

Ana María Altamirano Morales is a Biologist graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), with training oriented to biomedical research and experience in experimental models of metabolic diseases and applied cell biology. Since January 2022, she is part of the Hematopoiesis and Leukemia Laboratory of the Morphology and Experimental Research Unit of the FES Zaragoza (UMIEZ), where she participates in research projects with impact on health and welfare.

His most recent work focuses on the project “Effect of Sechium edule H387 07 hybrid on glucose lowering and modulation of oxidative stress and inflammation in a diabetic mouse model.”, which explores the potential of plant-derived bioactive compounds in the metabolic regulation and modulation of inflammatory processes.

He has experience in:

  • Model management in vivo for diabetes and liver cirrhosis research.
  • Laboratory techniques such as ELISA, APO-BrdU, flow cytometry and DNA damage assays.
  • Cell culture and histopathological analysis.
  • Organ harvesting and sample processing for experimental studies.

In addition to her technical skills, she has performed administrative functions related to laboratory management: reviewing invoices, quoting reagents, dealing with suppliers and organizing academic events. She has also trained new members in laboratory procedures, ensuring the correct transmission of protocols and good scientific practices.

He complements his training with specialized courses in clinical biochemistry, selected topics of clinical laboratory, reading of blood smears, accidental punctures and strategies with functional foods in clinical practice, which strengthens his multidisciplinary profile.

Its trajectory reflects a balance between technical skills, organization and teamwork, with a constant commitment to quality in scientific research.
